Check events received by Merlin doesn't trigger the OCSP command,
which is usually used to process performance data. It also doesn't
cause performance data to be flushed to files. Rectifying the matter
shouldn't be difficult, but I won't have time to look into it for
at least a fortnight. My social schedule is almost as busy as the
one at work. It's fun, but not an unmixed blessing.
Incidentally, there is a file descriptor leak in merlin that was
fixed earlier today. I'd recommend using merlin v0.6.4-beta1 to
fix this problem. It only triggers when the merlin daemon isn't
started at the time Nagios loads, but will cause all checks to
stop running after about 7.5*$(ulimit -n) seconds on average.

Considering the successes of the wars on alcohol, poverty, drugs and
terror, I think we should give some serious thought to declaring war
on peace.
