Thanks for the script, unfortunately, it's been blocked by our spam
filter. Any chance to send it to mhienz at yahoo.de ?

Heinz,

Thanks for information. I really appreciate your time and for getting
back to me.

I am also running REHL5 (CentOS 5.3) with the base Nagios installation.
Attached is a script I came about, which I altered for REHL5 environment
and it works very well.
Ninja also works with this script without any problems, accept for the
NACOMA part though.
I'll have to get help from the developers as I only have a basic
understanding and knowledge about Linux and won't be able to do what you
have explained to me.

Thanks again.

Kind Regards,
Deon Vermeulen

Subject: Re: [op5-users] Question regarding Nacoma setup

Deon,

I unfortunately can't give you a short guide, because my config is now
based on default Nagios location (/usr/local/Nagios) I modified lots of
files pointing to this path, so I do not need any specific op5 package
prerequisites. As a side note, I am using RHEL5 as an OS.
What I generally did though, just downloaded latest version from git,
moved the files to my preferred directory, added a nacoma.conf file to
the /etc/httpd/httpd.d dir and then I modified paths in for about 20
files in nacoma, but I can't tell you which that were.
I think the developers probably have a better overview. I also created
the DB manually with the .sql file. I also remember that I had to add
one field to host and service table, because it seems to be missing in
the .sql file. It was the field "failure_prediction_enabled". Eric can
probably add this change to the git unless this field will become
obsolete. I also added one of my Nagios admin users to the
"config_access" table and also added this user manually into the merlin
db into the users table.
As you can see, lots of things that needed to be done, because I didn't
what to use any install script to get familiar with the program setup,
but hope that answers your question a bit.

Regards
Michael

I have basically setup Nacoma, together with Ninja and Merlin downloaded
from the git, and everything is running so far.

There is just one thing I cannot figure. Which is the script and or
daemon that is populating changes directly made to the Nagios
configuration files to the Nacoma database ?

>From what I have read it should work, so that users can whether use the
Nacoma frontend to modify Nagios configs or use the standard "vi way"
