You need to set the root password for MySQL to blank/null.

I want to install merlin on ubuntu but when i use the command
./install-merlin.sh --nagios-cfg=/usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
--dest-dir=/usr/local/nagios/addons/merlin
and press Y for yes it is gonna install but when he wanna makes the
databases he gets
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using

./install-merlin.sh: 302: [[: not found

How to fix this? Can't really find it on how to do that
