Not exactly trivial, but not exactly rocket-science either. You could
write a small script to pull performance-data from the status.log file
and register it from there with your performance-data gatherer.

A second alternative is to make Merlin call Nagios' own performance
data handling routines when it receives a checkresult from a poller
node. That would be a better thing for sure. If it's not difficult,
I might have something which works by the end of the day.
