Well, I am have actually never worked with FreeBSD but I think that
should be a separate plugin. The check_yum plugin was written to
handle our systems which are based on CentOS 5.  So perhaps the
patched version should be named check_repo, check_sw_update or
something simular and be used as a base for a generic plugin that also
could handle for example apt.

Go ahead and post it if you like, if nobody else on the list picks it
up I think we will look at adding for example apt support when we get
the time.
