That depends on your system setup. If you're referring to how many
poller nodes you can have, the answer is "usually around 1024 for
each poller node". However, each poller can in turn have poller
nodes attached to it, so the real answer is "more than you can
possibly imagine, although you'll run out of bandwidth if you
really, really try".
How many network nodes you can monitor with a clustered solution
is ofcourse also limited only by the amount of hardward and
bandwidth you throw at it.

Yes and no. The Merlin db doesn't contain a raw log of events,
for example. It will contain a log of all state-changes in the
network (for SLA-reports) and the status of all monitored
objects in the network, along with all comments (acks are
stored as comments, for example) and a log of all notifications.
That's roughly the data that's used to display what the CGI's
are displaying today. More can be added later, but we try not
to bloat our products with features we do not currently need.
