Andreas is on vacation for 2 more weeks so it might take some time 
before he answers this. I'l tell you what I know

He did solve some problems causing crashes, but not in particular on 
64bit systems. Our merlin installations have been running very stable 
since then but when I checked our 64bit system we had one crash last 
Friday so it seems it's not entierly stable yet.
