Hi Andriy
Thanks for this, I've been going through the documentation for Nagvis and
noticed they have a default backend listed in the Nagvis.ini.php file so
that will need to be changed to the merlinmy_1 value
<snip>
defaults
Default values which are applied to the maps you use. If there is no value
set in the map or an element on the map the default value is used.
backend ndomy_1 Default backend (ID of the backend - copy the text from
which <backend-id> stands for in [backend_<backend-id>] )
</snip>
I'll have a go tomorrow in work and report back, but if we can use Nagvis
without the pain of installing NDOUtils I'll be very happy
Mike

Hello Michael,
you have to edit nagvis.ini.php file that is in NAGVIS_INSTALL_DIR/etc :
remove all the section named [backend_ndomy_1] and put this one instead
[backend_merlinmy_1]
backendtype="merlinmy"
dbhost="localhost"
dbport=3306
dbname="merlin"
dbuser="merlin"
dbpass="merlin"
Also we are preparing the packaged version of nagvis that will integrate
into Ninja - will be ready soon!

Hi All
Today I've been setting up Nagvis on my test machine (this runs Nagios 3.06,
Ninja and Merlin) and during the install I noticed you could link it up to
the Merlin database, so I wanted to find out if that meant I could do away
with NDOUtils and just use Merlin as the event broker? At the moment I have
2 entries for event broker (one for Merlin and one for NDO Utils) in my
nagios.cfg and I'm not sure if this is ok
If so does anyone have and hints on getting Nagvis to run without it's
default backend (ndomy_1) as I'm getting real problems with it
Cheers
Mike
