Hey all

Today is an exiting day for us because we just finished beta1 of op5
Monitor-4.0 which is based on Nagios 3

This version is for now only announced on this mailinglist.

Notes about testing

Since this is a beta, be careful. Don't test this in your production
environment. We do not guarantee that it will be possible to upgrade
from the beta release to the stable version.

The beta can be found here

https://www.op5.com/products/beta/op5-monitor-install-4.0.0-20081001.tar.gz
username: monitor
password: beta

From our knowledge we are the first company to incorporate Nagios3 into
a product, and by saying that I want to mention that this is not because
of some stability issues in Nagios rather amount of added functionality.

Some goodies in Monitor-4 are

* Time periods. I say, just check them out! As an addition to the week
based timeperiods in nagios2 you can now define exceptions. For example
I have configured a timeperiod that makes our system never alert me on
my birthday :)

* Performance performance performance. A lot of performance improvements
indeed. Host checks are now parallel. We have been running up to 20000
services on a single op5 Large server with basically no stress at all

* Lots and lots of bugfixes. We have put in a great effort to kill off
bugs. Most work has been on the Configure interface

Although we have fixed a lot of bugs, please bare in mind that this is a
beta.. all feedback is welcome

Best regards
